Twitter

I posted this image I took of kate Dillon , who is a very well known as a plus size model. She is so beautiful and looks normal not plus size to me.
A lot of people on Twitter got really upset that she is considered "plus size".
I'm right there with you all on that front. As a woman who has my own issues with having a curvy shape , I am very considerate not to perpetuate the unhealthy imagery that dominates fashion magazines and main stream advertising. Most of my subjects are normal, healthy looking women and I always tell model agents not to send me skinny skinny girls as I don't know how to photography them that well. .

Ok this is obviously not a polaroid. It's a  video still of my daughter Ella taking her baby for a walk. I'm amazed the maternal instinct is so strong even at 2 years old.
Another 4x5 polaroid. My rose bushes are what I see every day out the trailer window.

My house looks like a school yard. The only thing I can do to make it better for the adults is to buy kids stuff that is pleasing to the eye.
(chairs from IKEA)

I photograph flowers as much as I do people.

This is how I pray.

Shiloh Fernandez was brave when he went into the woods with me and my daughter armed with some bubbles, a light meter and an old box of film.  We only took pictures for ten minutes, but nearly every frame was beautiful.  I'm never comfortable asking someone to take their shirt off but sometimes is just has to happen.

My son and my husband, taken on my favorite 4 x 5 camera.  After I had my twins, I was so tired, I could only photograph people and things around my house.  I had been working so much before the babies came, I lost my genuine love for photography.  In the last two years, I have been reconnected.

This is Kat Dennings for Arena Magazine.  I'm not sure if they ever published the picture we gave them.  She's not a tits and ass kind of girl and Arena Magazine wanted a foxy picture.  In a world obsessed with skinny, I can see why she wanted to keep her clothes on.  Nevertheless, she has one of the best figures I've ever seen.  This is the polaroid we took for us and it is one of my favorites.

This is polaroid of my daughter Atlanta that I took for French Vogue, March 2009.  It's a little feature called Une Fille de Style.  As you can see, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
